Being a new mom is amazing, you see someone become your life’s purpose, someone who challenges you to become a better person. Dedication and patience are key to losing postpartum baby weight and looking like your pre-baby self again.

Bodies after pregnancy are never truly the same again. Life can feel like its never the same. With the right exercises and eating right you are bound to feel like your old self.

Below is 10 tips to help new mom’s snapback after delivery.

Walking: You can offer the new mom to walk with her everyday. This will get her body moving and burn calories. Buy her a fitness tracker and measure daily activity then gradually start to increase steps every week by 10 percent as she gets stronger.

Breastfeed: Recommend her to breastfeed her baby. It’s a fast way to shrink the uterus back down to pre-pregnancy size. And, it burns up to 600 calories a day.

Spice up the cardio: There needs to be some fun when working out. Try to finish her cardio, walking, hiking or gently jogging. With walking lunges and modified push-ups with the knees on the floor.

Motivation: Motivated her, especially with a new born is demanding her attention which can be difficult. To stay motivated, recommend her to go to class with other new moms. Working out with others will help her stay motivated. You can also give her a reward after accomplishing a goal.

Prenatal Vitamins: Recommend her to take an iron supplement and vitamin C to help with the absorption of iron. This can help with her with the snapback.
