Exercise is really important for your family as it can lower heart risks, control weight, and help children do better in school. And it lets the children burn off some energy. Family activities and fitness at an early age can go a long way toward helping children form healthy habits for life.
Here are some great and fun exercises for family fitness:
1. Make Time to Play
If your children are young, they might like hide-and-seek. Kick a soccer ball around or shoot hoops with older children.
2. Walk or Bicycle Everywhere You Can
Use muscle power: Bike or walk to the grocery store, library, or to your child’s school or sports events.
3. Plan Active Family Gatherings
Serve up family fitness as well as cake at your child’s birthday party by planning active games such as tag or relay races. Older kids might enjoy throwing a dance party.
4. Sing and Dance While You Clean
Set aside time for household chores and do them together as a family. Play music as you clean, and take turns choosing favourite songs. Younger children love to help out and can pick up toys or sweep floors while dancing with the broom. Older children can dust, vacuum, and help make beds.

5. Jump Rope
A child-friendly exercise that is great for the whole family. In fact, children usually dominate at this exercise once they get the hang of it thanks to their lower center of gravity. Just ten minutes of jump rope is enough to get the blood flowing and with more than one person, it is fun to learn all kinds of fun jumps.
6. Give Kids Freedom
Most kids are naturally inclined to be active to the point that they exhaust you. As electronics use grows in our society, it’s important to give children other options for adventure and entertainment. And this might involve letting them take some risks!
