Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals Why Divorce Is Not An Option

Having faced tough times over the course of their two decades of marriage, Jada Pinkett shared reasons why divorce is not an option for her’s and Will Smith’s marriage. While speaking on Monday episode of her Facebook Watch series ‘Red Table Talk show’, Jada admitted her mom once questioned her marriage to Will Smith.“She was like, ‘Well, why don’t you guys just divorce?’” Jada recalled. “One of the ideas for me is that we’ve built such a beautiful community,” Jada said. Stressing the significance of their union, The Girls Trip star noted: “We’ve built such a beautiful family and our survival—we do well together. And then breaking that group and community up, for me, it’s just never an option. I’m just like ‘No subtraction. If you need to add, go ahead. But I don’t see the necessity of subtraction.'” When the divorce option came up, Jada voiced her thoughts on the issue saying “For me, personally, I’m not mature enough to have a divorce. I’m just not. I don’t think I would ever be mature enough. When you have to start going in, breaking up assets… that’s when the red table turns upside down, and it won’t be red no more!”Jada added: “I actually have more maturity to figure it out within and work with what I got. I’ve seen people try to have the most friendly divorces and at some point, it’s still painful.”Photo Credit: Getty
