The wedding celebrations lasted for 10 days. On Sunday, a pre-wedding ceremony known as Khatam Quran took place where Anisha sported her first bridal look.

Parents, siblings, and venerable elders graced this momentous occasion, enveloping the soon-to-be-wedded pair in an aura of glamour and tradition,” he captioned the images from the event on Instagram.

The wedding celebration comes shortly after Prince Mateen, 32, posted his engagement picture with his fiancée, where Anisha wore a white blazer and displayed her dazzling diamond ring.

“Wishing you all the best for 2024 💫,” he wrote in his caption.

The couple exchanged vows on Thursday, Jan. 11 at the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque and fêted at a royal banquet on Friday Jan. 14 with a global guest list.

Prince Mateen is the fourth son and 10th child of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and often accompanies his father on official royal engagements. The sultan and his son attended the state funeral of late Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022 and returned to London for the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla in May 2023. The following month, they traveled to Jordan for the royal wedding of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, which the Prince and Princess of Wales also attended.

Prince Abdul Mateen and Anisha have reportedly been dating for a few years, and the Sultan announced their engagement in October 2023. The bride is the granddaughter of the Sultan’s special advisor, Pehin Dato Isa, and the groom is a helicopter pilot and major in the Royal Brunei Air Force.
