Emmy Winner Jeannie Mai Is Devastated As Husband Jeezy Files For Divorce…She ‘Wants To Work Things Out’ To Get Her ‘Family Unit Back’

Daytime Emmy winner Jeannie Mai is reportedly ‘devastated’ her husband – four-time Grammy nominee Jay ‘Jeezy’ Jenkins – filed for divorce from her one week ago after over two years of marriage.

‘The truth is Jeannie wants her marriage to work, and wants her family to be one solid unit,’ a source said on Thursday.

‘She deeply loves Jeezy, and she wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced. This was not a part of the plan. This is not how she ever imagined things would go down.’

The insider added: ‘Even though Jeezy has filed, Jeannie is holding out hope that he would be willing to sit down and works things [out]. She is hoping for a resolution and wants to remain as a united family unit.’

The South Carolina-born father-of-four – turning 46 in one week – told the Fulton County Superior Court in legal docs that they’re ‘currently living in a bona fide state of separation’ and their marriage is ‘irretrievably broken’ with ‘no hope for reconciliation’ – according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Jeezy – who has a prenuptial agreement with the 44-year-old San Jose native – is asking for joint legal custody of their 20-month-old daughter Monaco Mai Jenkins, who already has 214K Instagram followers.

Last Thursday, the Snofall rapper coldly captioned a snap of himself posing next a luxurious Maybach car: ‘Too focused on who I’m becoming to focus on who’s not coming with me.’

But as recent as September 6, Jeannie praised Jeezy’s ‘strength and wisdom’ after his new memoir Adversity for Sale landed on the New York Times bestsellers list.

‘This moment isn’t just a testament to your literary skills baby, but a recognition of your ability to inspire through the power of storytelling,’ Mai – who boasts 5.5M social media followers – gushed on Instagram.

‘I’m endlessly grateful for your voice in this world. Honored to walk beside you my love.’

The 5ft9in hip-hop star eventually replied two days later in the comments with two heart emojis.

The estranged couple were last pictured together with their families at their Atlanta mansion for Father’s Day, despite a source telling ET on Tuesday: ‘They differed on certain family values and expectations and felt like their needs weren’t being met.’

Jeezy is also father to 27-year-old son Jadarius Dykes Jenkins (with babymama Tenesha Dykes), 23-year-old son Shyheim Jenkins, and nine-year-old daughter Amra Nor Jenkins (with ex-fiancée Mahlet Gebregiorgis).
