Prince Gbolahan Animashaun and Karima Kusow got married in a traditional wedding which took place on Saturday, December 16 at the Twinwaters Event Centre Lekki, Lagos.
The wedding between Gbolahan Animashaun and his wife Karima was a marriage of culltures. Gbolahan is a Nigerian, while Karima has roots in the United States of America, Tunisia and Somalia.
The multicultural wedding made the event so colourful, both in terms of clothes and the racial diversity of guests present, as many came from Somalia, the United States of America, Canada, and different countries in Europe to celebrate with the couple and their families.
Gbolahan, while speaking at the event, recalled that he proposed to her on Christmas Day in 2022.
We met while I was still in graduate school in New York. I did an internship in Washington DC, and she was also working in that state at the time. We lived in the same neighbourhood and when we met, we started talking from there.
He proposed to me on Christmas day in 2022. It was a surprise to me, but everybody in the family knew that he was going to propose. He took me to Prospect Park, Brooklyn, New York City and all of a sudden, he proposed on one knee, and I said ‘yes’.
