Hollywood Actress Kristen Bell reveals the secret to her marriage with her actor husband Dax Shepard.
Kristen Bell says finding “common goals” with her husband Dax Shepard is key to why their marriage continues to thrive.
The actress, who will celebrate her 10th wedding anniversary with Shepard, 48, next month, just opened up about how they continue to work together to make each other happy.
“Common goals, seek them out. Our kids are a common goal, right?” said Bell, 43, in an interview with ‘Entertainment Tonight’ referencing their daughters, Delta, 8, and Lincoln, 10.
“People are like, ‘Oh, I wouldn’t be able to work with my husband or wife or partner.’ For me, I want another common goal with him,” she continued. “I respect him so much creatively. I have so much trust in him. Of course I want him to be my director or my scene partner.”
There’s “a deep sense of respect,” as well, Bell said. She explained to ET that both that respect and “understanding” is what has helped her and Shepard weather conflicts.
“Understanding that your partner used to be a little person is the best thing you can do,” she told ET.
The actress added, “Sometimes if we’re ever on the verge of a fight, one of us will say — it’s usually Dax — ‘I feel like 8-year-old Dax right now.’ And I’m able to see him like I see my kids, which is in a very different way and go, ‘Oh yeah, you’re a little person that had trauma and triggers and it’s not about me.’”
Bell also told the outlet that if she could “change” her behavior in a way that “benefits” the relationship, she would do it, because “why wouldn’t I do that?”

When asked how they’ll mark their major anniversary on Oct. 17, the actress revealed that they aren’t stressed about celebrating the milestone achievement, as their current focus is on Halloween plans with their daughters.
“It’s 10 years? I can’t be bothered with the anniversary,” Bell said. “Halloween is coming up. And I don’t need any aluminum, and he doesn’t need any diamonds.”
She said the family of four is already preparing their costumes, which are inspired by the Harry Potter franchise this year.
