Dr Maryam (Kamila) Kwairanga, daughter of the Chairman of Nigeria Exchange Limited, Dr Umaru Kwairanga (Sarkin Fulanin Gombe), and her groom, Khalid Dahiru Buba Biri were joined together as husband and wife in a high society wedding.
The wedding between Dr Maryam (Kamila) Kwairanga and Khalid Dahiru Buba Biri took place on Saturday, April 20, at the palace of the Emir of Gombe.
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, led dignitaries to participate in the nuptial rites the couple.
Among those present were Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, renowned banking and financial sector leader, Alhaji Umar Mutallab, former Governors of Gombe and Sokoto States; Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo and Aminu Tambuwal, Acting National Chairman of PDP, Amb. Damagum, members of National and State Assemblies, members of the political and business classes from within and outside the state, as well as family members and associates.
The Emir of Gombe and Chairman of Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, CFR, were witnesses to the wedding ceremony, where the Chief Imam of Gombe central mosque, Sheikh Muhammadu Umar Pindiga, presided over the Nikkah and solemnised the marriage between Dr. Maryam and Khalid in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
