The Great British Bake Off’s youngest-ever contestant Martha Collison is expecting her first baby with husband Michael Haywood.
Martha Collison, 27, shot to fame on Bake Off in 2014 at the age of just 17, delighting the judges with a talent beyond her years.
On New Year’s day, Martha announced the happy news, alongside a series of sweet baking-themed quips.
Showing off her baby bump in a duo of snaps, former TV personality wrote: ‘Christmas with our own little pudding, due to be ready in spring’, alongside the hashtags ‘#BabyBaker’ and ‘#BunInTheOven’.
She shared the post to her Instagram Story with the additional caption ‘Beyond thankful for this little blessing – our family is growing’.
The baker reached the quarter finals of GBBO in 2014 and the series was eventually won by retired practice manager Nancy Birtwhistle.
Some of the biggest names in the cooking world flooded Martha’s comments section to congratulate her.
MasterChef semi-finalist Nisha Parmar wrote: ‘Oh my goodness!!! Martha!! That’s the best bun you’ve ever cooked!!! So happy for you both!! Congratulations.’
Martha Collison and Michael Haywood got married in 2019. Winner Nancy was among the guests as were several other series five contestants.
