After two decades, Sangita Patel and her husband Samir Patel are still going strong.
The “ET Canada” host Sangita Patel, 44, took to Instagram on Thursday with a heartfelt message for her husband to mark their 20th wedding anniversary.
The Toronto native paired her tribute with a carousel of photos of herself and her husband, including a snap from the night Samir popped the question, as well as their two daughters, Ava and Shyla, and their dog.
“This photo was taken an hour before I said ‘yes,'” Patel captioned. “I just got my engineering degree the day before, and then Sam whisked me away to the Bahamas.
“Little did I know, he had already met with my family and asked for their blessing. My sisters kept a secret from me — how dare they?”
Patel recalled the moment Samir got down on one knee, admitting that she was taken by surprise.
“Sam got on one knee (same height as me when he kneels). I was complaining about the bugs on the beach and missed the whole ‘will you marry me?’ I’m pretty sure I said ‘holy [s—],'” she shared.
“Twenty years! The moments, the memories, the ride. What an incredible ride.”
The mom-of-two explained that her and Samir’s love story reminds her of the children’s “K-I-S-S-I-N-G” nursery rhyme.
“First comes love, then comes marriage, then came Ava and Shyla in a baby carriage,” she wrote. “Happy 20th anniversary, Sam (still checking you out, hubba hubba).”
Fans flooded the comments section with warm messages swooning over the happy couple.
“Happy anniversary!!!” penned fellow Canadian TV host Melissa Grelo, along with several heart emojis.
“You are an amazing couple and family,” an Instagram user wrote.
Another added, “Beautiful marriage, beautiful family.”
“Love your story,” someone else said, alongside a heart emoji.
