Tommy and Yvonne Tiernan have celebrated 14 years of marriage together by sharing a heartwarming snap from their wedding day on social media.
Back in 2009, the comedian and chat-show host Tommy Tiernan eloped with The Raines singer Yvonne at a star-studded ceremony in Monaghan’s Castle Leslie.
This week, they marked their wedding anniversary, with Yvonne taking to Instagram to share a picture from their special day.
In the black and white photo the just-married couple can be seen looking lovingly at each other as they laugh.
The picture garnered a great deal of attention with actress Maria Doyle Kennedy commenting on Instagram: “Congratulations! Hope you’re having a lovely day , it was a mighty celebration”.
“Happy Anniversary to you Yvonne and Tommy,” another follower wrote
A third added: “Congratulations you two!” While one more said: “That’s a great pic!”
Earlier this year, Yvonne opened up about the challenges of being in the public eye and being married to the famous comedian.
She said: “I’m always amazed because Tommy speaks very publicly regularly about his life, about everything in his life and he does in his stand-up too and I would never ask him not to but it’s almost like…
“It’s such a part of my life that people are wanting information about Tommy, and I think that’s fine when it is him giving that information.
“He can choose to say whatever he wants or not about himself, but I get very protective about him and our family because it is a source for clickbait.”
