How To Make The Weekends Fun For Children

Thank God it’s Friday! The weekend is finally here and your children are so excited to get a break from school.

A typical weekend is two days long, so it is not much time to do some fun stuff. Your children could spend all their weekend doing fun things, or they could spend all their weekend being practical and doing things that they need to finish.

However, here are some ways to make weekends fun for children:

There are endless possibilities for games that your children can play during the weekend. Games like scrabble, monopoly, chess, ludo, etc. Card games like Go Fish, Uno, and Exploding Kittens, etc. are also cool options to keep you and your family entertained.

Toys are children’s friends to keep them company during the weekend.

Let them role-play adventure scenarios with their toys, such as a superhero (or superheroes) saving people or animals from danger or Barbies exploring in a jungle. They could also pretend normal scenarios, such as “My Little Pony’s going to school or Lego people shopping in a supermarket.”

The weekend is a brilliant time for them to work on their drawing skills.

If they are having trouble thinking of what to draw, let them look around their room and the world around them. They can as well look outside and draw the trees in your neighborhood, houses, your pet dog, their friends, a made-up story, a comic strip, etc.

You can help them search up random songs on a music website like YouTube. Search up “popular kids songs” if they want to hear the latest hits. You could also center your search on a theme, like “Halloween songs”, “holiday tunes”, or “summer melodies”.

Turn autoplay on so you don’t have to keep clicking on the next song for it to play. This way, they can continually dance until they tire out!

This is similar to the dancing activity, except that they sing along with the songs instead of dancing to them. If they feel like singing more than dancing, they can sing to their favourite songs.
