Being married to an older partner is not really a big deal, in fact, it is like the new norm in our society. Most men prefer to marry a lady much more younger than they are for certain reasons. Also, women don’t see it as a big deal to marry a younger man. I mean age is just but a number right? Marrying an older partner comes with its advantages and disadvantages.
What most people don’t understand is that just as there are difficulties marrying someone their age, there are also difficulties marrying an older partner. Mutual respect
First and foremost, we know respect is important in a relationship, and marrying someone much older than you makes it even more possible. If your husband is way older than you trust us when we say he will definitely give you the respect that you deserve if not even more. And the same goes for you, you would want to treat him like his age and try not to do anything that is going to turn out disrespectful.
Your sex drive might not be the same
You cannot have the same sex drive like marrying a partner your age. If you are younger than your partner, there are certain sex positions you cannot try out with your partner, at the same time your partner might not be able to last as long you want or expect.
Your communication style might be different
Older partners tend to be good communicators because they have been in serious relationships and have probably seen a lot of the world. But you might reach a point of conflict when it comes to the style of communication. For instance, if you prefer to be checked on more than 3 times a day, and your partner doesn’t believe this to be necessary when you would meet at home, might cause some difficulties in communication.
There might be a slight cultural difference
Being married to an older partner can cause a slight cultural difference or gap. For instance, if your partner isn’t accustomed to the young people’s tradition, it might be up to you to teach him/her just the same way you get to be through one or two from their own time.
You might not be able to do a certain thing
One major disadvantage of marrying an older person is that you might not be able to do things you want to like with someone your age mate. For instance, you want to go to an amusement park, your partner who is older might not see it as such a great idea and rather want you guys to go have a dinner date instead.
