Former Governor Of Kaduna State Nasir El-Rufai Absent As Eldest Son Bello El-Rufai Ties The Knot With New Wife Aisha Habibu

The immediate-past Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, was absent at the wedding ceremony of his eldest son, Bello El-Rufai, who tied the knot with Aisha Habibu Shuaibu, as his new wife.

It was gathered that Bello El-Rufai’s decision to enter into a second marriage followed divorcing his first wife, Kamilah, whom he had wedded back in April 2015.

It was reported that the senior El-Rufai departed the country after declining ministerial position in President Bola Tinubu government following the refusal of the Senate to confirm his nomination over security concern.

Before leaving the country, the former governor had a meeting with President Tinubu at the presidential villa in Abuja, shortly after which he embarked on a trip to Europe, with a stopover planned in Egypt.

Bello El-Rufai, who is a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North federal constituency, exchanged vows with Aisha Habibu Shuaibu, daughter of a former Military Administrator of Plateau and Niger States, Col. Habibu Shuaibu (rtd).

The private ceremony took place in Abuja on Saturday.

However, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, for whom Bello had worked as a legislative aide during the governor’s tenure as a Senator, stepped in as the representative of the groom’s father, a customary role in the Hausa tradition.

Governor Uba Sani expressed his joy about being the father of the day at the wedding and took to his verified social media account, X (formerly known as Twitter), to share photographs from the ceremony.
