Black Celebrities That Have Welcomed Babies Via Surrogacy

Over the years several medical procedures have emerged helping people welcome babies into their homes. Several people are embracing these options and have welcomed incredible additions to their families. Surrogacy is a case where a woman agrees to bear a child for another person or people, who will become the child’s parent after birth.

Several celebrities have embraced this part demystifying a lot of myths and conversations about childbirth and motherhood. These personalities were open about their options educating fans and followers about the journey and how it impacted their life.

1. Kim Kardashian 
   The reality TV star used a surrogate for her 3rd and 4th child Chicago and Psalm after she had difficulty with her 2 children. She shared that she had a team help her interact with her surrogate making the relationship easier. She explained how difficult it is to entrust and trust another woman the responsibility of welcoming your child and having a community of helpers makes the journey easier.
   
2. Ini Edo
   Nollywood star Ini Edo welcomed her daughter via surrogacy revealing that she used a sperm donor and a surrogate for her precious gift. She explained that she chose this process to save herself from baby daddy drama to just welcoming her child in a safe space.
   
3. Gabrielle Union
   Gabrielle over the years has been open about her infertility story and difficulty conceiving. She finally embraced the surrogate option to welcome her super adorable daughter Kaavia. She is grateful to have her blessing with her regardless of the process and fully embracing motherhood and its responsibility.
   
4. Nike Oshinowo
   The former Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria (MBGN) had battled endometriosis and with the struggles of this, she embraced the option of surrogacy in the United States. She opened up on the gratitude of her blessings and enjoying motherhood.
   
5. Tyra Banks 
   Supermodel Tyra Banks and her partner Erik Asla welcomed their son York in 2016 via surrogacy. The model had been candid about her struggle with infertility, IVF, and becoming a mom till they finally embraced the option of surrogacy.
   
6. Naomi Campbell
   The model never fully revealed how she welcomed her bundle of joy earlier this year but multiple reports believe it was via a surrogate. She shared the good news a picture of her hand cradling a small baby’s feet with the caption: “A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother.”
