Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and his wife Janet Museveni marked their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, 26th of August.
The Ugandan president and his wife Janet Museveni marked their 50 years together by renewing their vows in a ceremony attended by close friends and family members.
In photos seen by the Star, Museveni’s son Muhoozi Kainerugaba and his wife played the roles of best man and maid of honour, while the bridal team comprised of their grandchildren.

Speaking after exchanging vows, the Ugandan president praised Mama Janet for helping him create a family.
“Maama helped me to create a family, and I am very grateful for her contribution. I salute her for bringing up the children without my presence; her contribution to the upbringing has no comparison. She did it when I wasn’t there and didn’t even know I would ever return to their lives. I therefore thank God for my family, Maama Janet, the children and the grandchildren,” Museveni said.
