It’s over for Joe Jonas and his wife Sophie Turner. The Jonas Brothers singer officially filed for divorce from the actress on September 5, 2023.
Rumours of a split began circulating earlier in the month, with various anonymous sources alleging the couple’s “different lives” led to the split. The two officially commented on their separation the following day with a joint statement shared on Instagram:

“After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” she shared. “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
However, when Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas tied the knot in 2019, their South of France wedding was shrouded in secrecy. The finale of Game of Thrones – the epic HBO series that made Turner a star – had just aired a month before, and as a result, the media attention surrounding the young couple was at a fever pitch.

The location was kept secret. Great lengths were taken to keep paparazzi out. Pictures on social media were few and far between. The only people who really knew anything about the affair were, well, the ones who attended it.

But on their second wedding anniversary, Turner finally felt ready to open up.
It started with a singular Instagram: of the actor in her lace, long-sleeved Louis Vuitton dress, walking down the aisle hand-in-hand with her new husband.
“2 years as your wife holy moly I love you bub,” she wrote. Shortly after, she followed up with a slideshow of several more wedding photos. “I mean. . . fuck it, it’s been 2 years,” she added.
The second batch of images ranged from the formal, to the casual, to the intimate. One picture shows a bare-faced, ebullient Jonas getting ready with bridesmaids. 
Another is a black and white photo closeup of the couple’s first dance. Then there’s a shot of their grandiose cake—a multi-tiered confection with Baroque-esque detailing, including a pair of gilded cherubs.
She also shared a stunning aerial shot of their wedding venue, Château de Tourreau. In it, guests mingle by the property’s palatial pool, soaking up the Provencal sun.
